Lusine

Privacy Policy

Last updated 4 August 2026 · Applies to Lusine for iOS and iPadOS

Lusine is a cycle tracking app for iPhone and iPad. This policy explains what happens to the information you put into it. The short version: we don't receive it, because Lusine has no server and no account system.

We do not collect, receive, transmit, sell, or share any of your personal or health information. Lusine has no backend service. There is no mechanism in the app by which your entries reach us.

Information Lusine stores

Everything you enter — period dates, flow, symptoms, mood, energy, notes, custom symptoms, basal body temperature, ovulation test results, your display name, and your settings — is written to private storage on your device, inside the app's own sandboxed container. Other apps cannot read it.

We have no copy of this data and no ability to retrieve it. If you delete Lusine, iOS deletes its local data with it.

Where your data can go

Lusine only moves data off your device in ways you explicitly turn on or trigger:

DestinationDefaultWhat happens
iCloud backup Off If you enable it, Lusine writes an encrypted backup record to your private iCloud database, under your own Apple Account. This is Apple's infrastructure, not ours — the private database is not accessible to us as the developer.
Apple Health Off If you grant permission, Lusine can write period flow, basal body temperature, and ovulation test samples to Apple Health. It requests read access only at the moment you tap Import to bring in existing period history.
Exports Manual When you tap export, Lusine generates a JSON backup, a CSV, or a clinician summary and hands it to the iOS share sheet. Where it goes from there is entirely your choice.

What Lusine does not do

Lusine ships with an Apple privacy manifest declaring no tracking and no collected data types, consistent with this policy.

Notifications

Reminders are optional and scheduled locally on your device by iOS. They are not push notifications, no server is involved, and their content never leaves your device.

Legal bases and your rights

Because we never receive your information, we hold no personal data about you to access, correct, port, or erase. You exercise full control directly in the app: you can edit or delete any entry, export everything, or delete all local data from Settings. Under GDPR terms, you are the controller of the data held on your own device; we act as neither controller nor processor of it.

If you enabled iCloud backup, that data lives in your Apple Account and is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. You can remove it by turning backup off and deleting the backup from within Lusine, or by managing your iCloud storage.

Children

Lusine is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Since the app collects nothing at all, no such information can reach us.

Security

Your data is protected by iOS app sandboxing and the device encryption tied to your passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID. We strongly recommend keeping a device passcode enabled. Any iCloud backup is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple.

Not medical advice

Lusine supports cycle awareness and personal recordkeeping. Its predictions, fertile window estimates, symptom patterns, and exports are educational, may be inaccurate, and are not medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or contraception guidance. Do not rely on Lusine to prevent or achieve pregnancy. Always consult a qualified clinician for medical concerns.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and revise the date above. Any change that would alter how data leaves your device would arrive alongside an app update and would remain subject to your explicit opt-in.
